puppies and aprons with tie strings...sounds like the sound of music!

It was my Nana's 70Th birthday the other day which we went down to celebrate at the weekend. Ellen and I really wanted to make her something nice so a couple of weeks ago we spent a few nights making this apron for her.
It's a bit of an heirloom really as all the fabric and skill needed to make this came from my Nana! She helped Ellen ages ago to make the patchwork which at the time was meant for a wall hanging and Nana taught me how to do the blanket stitch which you can see on the string ties. Even the thread and sewing machine we used was once Nana's!
We each embroidered our initials in the corners as well to make it a bit more personal. Overall she was chuffed to bits with it and we even managed to make her cry. The trouble we have now though is that she won't use it for the job it was designed for because she doesn't dare get it dirty!! Fair do's I guess!
An update on how Jenna's doing. She went to the vets yesterday and he was happy with the recovery she'd made whilst home. He gave her a thorough check with the stethoscop-e and was happy with the results of that so thankfully didn't need an x-ray or anything.
She's completely back to her normal self now and is being very cheeky!

Wow! That must have been an awesome gift to receive! I always think that a gift where a lot of time has been put in to it is a lot more personal and nicer to receive than one that has been bought.
Liking the blog makeover too! =D

That apron would cost a fortune in the Caff Kidston shop!

WHat a relief about Jenna. I hope she's got all her disasters out of the way now! Maybe make her a Cath Kidston padded jacket and tail guard!

The apron was actually a design we followed out of Ellen's Cath Kidson 'make' book so it is sort of Cath kidson in a way and it even has bits of her fabric in the patchwork too.
Good idea about the tail guard! Although she'd get odd looks from passers by though with a flowery patterned tail! I took Jenna for a walk right by a cliff edge today. Needless to say I didn't dare let her off what with her track record so far!!

Bekah! Why didn't we think of the Cath Kidston padded jacket and tail guard idea? I will go draw up the pattern now! x

yeah we made her cry! Ellen and I high fived eachother when that happened and were like "we made her cry! Result!" Not that were setting out to make her cry or anything but we knew that they were happy tears!x

She is so photogenic.
Bet she's growing quickly and doesn't look so tiny compared to Peppa

Yeah she's growing up fast and is catching up with Peppa. I think though when she's finished growing she will be slightly smaller than peppa. But she will definitely be the fastest though! Even still as a puppy Jenna is able to catch up ground easily to get to Peppa!!
